I have been largely ambivalent about the right approach towards visually impaired people. Growing up, the sentiments were sympathy towards them and a sense of gratitude for self for not being so. As horizons widened, I came across and also heard about amazing people who were visually impaired. I then realized that my mindset needed transformation to understand the visually impaired people better.
I had another realization about the need to transform myself from being largely physically unfit to becoming fit and healthy. I started running in order to achieve that physical transformation and in 2017, I gained confidence that I might be able to run a half marathon.
Score Foundation became a point of convergence for my two aspired transformations. For changing my mindset about visually impaired people, Score Foundation (www.eyeway.org) is a platform par excellence. For enabling my quest to run a half marathon, Score Foundation is a registered CSO for the ADHM. Score Foundation believes that blindness is not the real problem; it is the mindset, and towards alleviating that it informs, inspires and empowers people with visual impairment through information dissemination.
I am running this half marathon to contribute towards fund raising for Score Foundation and to further its mission and objectives. It is my appeal to you to make any financial contributions towards the same that you consider worthy.
