Work and Achievements
eVidyaloka focuses on transforming the education landscape in the rural and remote regions of India, harnessing the power of technology through a service delivery platform (My eVidyaloka 2.0). It is realized by involving the local communities to own the digital class rooms, connect and empower educated native-speaking volunteers, across the cities in India and world, to teach and mentor the children in rural villages of India. These children are otherwise deprived of quality education due to shortage of teachers. eVidyaloka addresses the major root cause of poor quality education in rural India, which short-changes millions of children and consigns them to lifelong poverty. eVidyaloka aims to unlock the educational potential of India’s rural youth and transform the fortunes of future generations.
Today 75 Centers are operational on “My eVidyaloka”, across 6 states (Jharkhand,Andhra Pradesh,Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra and West Bengal), involving 500+ volunteer teachers, delivering quality education in regional language to 4000+ children. An open content platform (wikiVidya) is being promoted, where volunteers build standardized lesson plans, aggregate the digital resources and aids for a consistent learning experience to the children in vernacular languages.
Our vision is to be a best in class, trusted organization, in providing quality education services, bringing people and technology together.
eVidyaloka focuses on delivering life-critical subjects – Math, Science, English and technology - to rural children through a remote delivery model, that both complements and supplements existing school curriculum, by bringing together three levers - People, Technology & Process.
