Ashmita, a resident of a shelter home in India, has been a part of Bhumi’s Ignite programme. She has shown a lot of interest in learning since the day we started delivering this highly interactive, engaging programme to her. With the support of her volunteer teachers, she achieved learning growth of 109% in just one year.
Through this programme, children like Ashmita have been able to learn core concepts, enabling them to stay on track with standard-level learning requirements. The children develop life skills that will ensure future success, increasing opportunities for college education and future employment.
Bhumi volunteers, who work with over 15,000 children in 12 cities across India, are trained in content, pedagogy and classroom management, ensuring qualitative impact on the children.
Bhumi believes that every under-privileged child deserves quality education. We have transformed this conviction into a volunteering opportunity for India’s youth, launching a snowball effect of talent nurturing talent on the path to an educated, poverty-free India.
