Every year thousands of people participate in marathons. Some of them run for fitness, some for fun, and others for causes close to their hearts. I am running the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon supporting Bharti Foundation’s vision of helping the underprivileged children and young people of our country realise their potential. This year, let’s run for the future of India – for the education of underprivileged children.
About 40% of India’s population is below the age of 18 years. This is the largest population of children in a single country, amounting to 400 million children. Out of this, less than half of India’s children between the age 6 and 14 go to school.
Education, I believe, is the principal tool to transform life of a person and direct him/her to a better life. Over the last two decades, Bharti Foundation has worked relentlessly towards this cause, enhancing lives of underprivileged children through education. The Foundation’s mission of creating and supporting programs that bring about sustainable changes through education by use of technology, resonates strongly with Airtel Payments Bank’s mission of growing the country by improving financially under-banked and digitally underserved lives.
I humbly request you to kindly join this good cause to send these children to school, to build a better, brighter future for them and hence for the country. When you donate to this program, you help in providing underprivileged children with holistic education and hence help them secure their future. I look forward to your contribution towards this cause
