Dr. Abdul Kalam Ji remembers one of his childhood incidents : One day my mom had made dinner after a long hard day’s work. She placed a plate of sabzi and extremely burnt roti in front of my dad. I was waiting to see if anyone noticed the burnt roti. But Dad just ate his roti and asked me how was my day was at school. I do remember I heard Mom apologizing to dad for the burnt roti. And I’ll never forget what he said: “Honey, I love burnt roti.”
Later that night, I asked him if he really liked his roti burnt. He wrapped me in his arms & said: “You know son, life is full of imperfect things. Life is too short to wake up with regrets! Love the people who treat you right and have compassion for the ones who don’t.” Enjoy Life Now. It has an expiry date and you never know when is yours.
This story is my source of inspiration for doing my bit for less privileged people. This year I am running the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon in 2019 to Support Save the Children. Save the Children is fiercely committed towards ensuring that children not only survive, but also thrive. In 2018 itself, they have impacted the lives of more than 12 lakh children. I have personally witnessed their efforts for betterment of disadvantaged children and therefore, I want to run ADHM in their support.
To achieve my target of INR 10 lakh I -- and these children in need -- need YOUR support.
I urge you to do YOUR bit for a better future of these children by donating generously.
