In December 2018, an eight-year-old Hanifa Zaara made headlines with her revolutionary stand against open defecation.
Hanifa had her father Esanullah (32) arrested after he failed to build a toilet in their home as he had promised. Hanifa had learnt at school about the dangers of open defecation, and was moved to complain about her father to provide the family with what they needed.
Even though Hanifa now has a toilet, a decent place to live has been the dream of the family.
The home that the family lives in now leaks continuously in monsoon, and this puts them at a disadvantage within the society.
Habitat for Humanity India will support Hanifa's family to build a home where they can live a better, more stable future.
I am running on behalf of Hanifa and her family in the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. Please support me and contribute generously to help this brave girl achieve her dreams!
