I feel extremely happy and proud to be associated with Mobile Creches (“MC”) for quite some time now. MC is working to ensure quality childcare services for children on the margins, and influence laws, programmes and policies for them, across India.
The first "mobile crèche" was set up in 1969 at a construction site in Delhi: a safe, nurturing shelter for the children of construction workers, with a full day programme of nutrition, health and education on the site near the hutments, where the little ones could play, learn, eat, sleep - and be cared for.
On the occasion of MC’s 50th anniversary, they are participating in the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2019, (ADHM), to raise visibility and funds for MC’s work. It aims to inspire 50 corporate partners to participate; 500 runners to champion the cause; helping MC reach out to 50,000 young children in India. Today, On this milestone year, I have decided to support the cause and run ADHM that will take place on 20th October, starting at 5 am from Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. I would sincerely request you to contribute to this cause as well.
Mobile Creches across its journey of 50 years, have reached out to 7,50,000 children, trained 6,500 women as childcare workers, run 650 daycare centres and partnered with 200 builders.
