To help realize personal independence, economic self-reliance and social inclusion of blind people in India.
Work and Achievements
Score Foundation was set up in 2002 as a non-profit trust to work for blind and visually impaired people.
The idea behind setting up Score was to change the mindset of people towards blindness and in the process, initiate a conversation on how to lead a Life with Blindness. We believe every visually impaired person in our country is a potential resource who needs to be invested in and not merely provided for.
Blind people have the potential to become independent, contributing and fully functional members of society. We are committed to disseminating information that can empower and inform them of the myriad possibilities of leading an independent life. We believe that the problem is not with the eye but with the mindset and therefore we aim to evolve mindsets of people towards visual disability through our various activities under Project Eyeway. Eyeway was set up as a one-stop knowledge resource on living life with blindness. Eyeway offers support in form of counselling, training and advocacy, operating through multiple channels, like, a national toll free Helpline, Website, Whatsapp messaging, Workshops and Seminars. At present, Eyeway is a network of 9 organizations-National Association for the Blind-Delhi, Saksham Trust (Delhi), Score (Delhi), EnAble India (Bangalore), Mitra Jyothi (Bangalore), Navchetna Institute (Patiala), Victoria Memorial School for the Blind (Mumbai), Blind People’s Association (Ahmedabad) and Little Flower Hospital (Kochi). We plan to map the entire country by 2019.
Fund Utilisation Statement
Funds from ADHM 2019 will be utilized to further activities and work under our primary project, Eyeway, which is a single stop knowledge resource on living life with blindness.
