There has been a very serious flood situation in Western Maharashtra in Kolhapur, Sangli, Karad and Konkan with over 1 lac people being evacuated from their houses and some have been temporarily housed in schools and halls. There is a serious shortage of food and water along with other essentials like Foodgrains, Cooking Oil, Gas Stoves, Warm Clothing, Raincoats and Umbrellas, Footwear, Sanitary Napkins and Diapers, Bedsheets and Pillows, nightwear, mosquito repellant, men's women's and children's clothes,Torches ,Soaps, Disinfectants, Kitchen utensils, Towels and undergarments etc.
We are working with a couple of NGO's to directly supply these items to the affected areas through the India Cares Foundation, an NGO which has worked with the IIMBAA, Bangalore Chapter.
We would welcome cash donations from our Alumni which will be used to buy and supply these items.
All donations above Rs 250/- will be eligible for deduction under Section 80G of the Income Tax act and receipts will be provided.
The IIMBAA Mumbai Chapter is kick-starting the donation drive with a donation of Rs 10000.

I urge each of you to donate generously for this needy cause.
