Work and Achievements
Sahasra Deepika International for Education (SDIE), is a non-profit charitable trust registered in the state of Karnataka. This is founded by Dr. T V Ramakrishna and Mrs. Vijaya Ramakrishna. The main mission of the trust is to provide a “Thousand lights of Hope and Compassion” for girls in need and serve as a vehicle for concerned individuals to work together to address the basic needs of orphaned, homeless and impoverished girls irrespective of caste creed or religion. Our vision is to save and educate the orphan, destitute girls to be independent and achieve higher goals. With this mission in mind Sahasra Deepika Institute was established in 1998 with 8 children and at present it has 75 girls studying from LKG to 10th. The students who have completed their schooling are enrolled in the +2 PUC in various colleges moving on to degree. We are proud to say 4 orphan needy children are graduating, 2 form Engineering and 2 form Computer Science and they are placed in the Paying Guests nearer to the colleges and supported by Sahasra Deepika for studies and sustainability. This bold venture provides the girls at Sahasra Deepika Institute the opportunity to attend an academically challenging school in the safety of our campus, with peers from middle-class families.
