As a high school student, I am aware of all the suffering that millions of people go through day in and day out. Having helped over 150 students in remote villages learn robotics, I understand the happiness one receives from altruism. This happiness is the motivating factor behind why I want to work with Habitat for Humanity India and help those below the poverty line.
After finding out about the difference this organization has been able to bring about, I have become all the more motivated to help its cause. From building shelters to spreading awareness about the importance of sanitation, Habitat for Humanity has done great things for our country.
Being a part of this Millennial Champion initiative, I also hope to learn more about myself as a person while bringing out the altruistic nature inside of me. Moreover, I hope to help other children and adults from this nation get the opportunity to achieve their dreams the same way I can. While 50000 may seem a meager amount in the grand scheme of things, such an amount can go a long way towards building a new home for a family and I am committed to making a difference.
Habitat for Humanity India is a non-profit organization that builds homes and provides housing-related services to low-income, marginalized families across India
