Everyday millions of people in India call our streets their `home’.They struggle to survive in the bleak winter deprived of essentials of survival. They work in the blazing heat of summer just to obtain the basics. They are the thousands who have lost their homes due the appalling disasters and `we’ the privileged 5% of the country tend to belittle these issues.
It is extremely dismaying to hear that despite of the progress made by humans in this millennium almost 170 million Indians, a sizeable chunk of humanity, do not have a roof to live under. To improve these dire conditions Habitat for Humanity strives to gives people hope, to give those who have nowhere to go a home. It gives them access to not just shelter but also covered toilets; awareness for the significance hygiene and sanitation is also taken into consideration. This organization has accomplished to provide 3,19,365 families of India with homes and improved the living of 9,40,430 individual in 2017 by providing them with a roof to live under and access to basic resources such as sanitation.
They foresee themselves touching the life’s of at least 60 million homeless people by the end of 2022 and it is in your power to be a big part of this great cause. You can donate, volunteer or even spread awareness for Habitat of Humanity; after all shelter is not a privilege it is a requirement, which each one of us has a fundamental right to obtain.
