Being one of the Founding Partners of IndusLaw and representing the Corporate sector has made me more aware of our social responsibilities towards the under-privileged and under-served sections of our society. I believe that nation building starts at the grass roots level and during early childhood. Providing quality education to ALL our children is not just a moral duty, but the need of the hour.
I am passionate about Children and their education, and therefore joined the Board of Trustees of One Billion Literates Foundation (OBLF). To fulfill its goal of `Equality in Education’, OBLF teaches basic English language and computer skills to rural children attending government schools in Anekal Taluk. We train and employ rural women from the same communities to impart the above skills for one hour daily, thus empowering rural women.
Currently OBLF runs its program in 48 schools, impacting 2900+ rural children and 50+ rural women.
Our goal for 2019-20 is to impact at least 4000 rural children and about 75 rural women.
On my part, I have set my goal at raising Rs.1.5 lakhs to help them adopt at least 2 more rural govt. schools. I hope you will support One Billion Literates Foundation and help them attain their goals by donating on my page.
