Parents Association of Persons with Cerebral Palsy and Associated Disorders-PAPCP
We deliver need-based therapy, training and skilling for differently abled people to learn and earn.
Work and Achievements
Parents Association of Persons with Cerebral Palsy and Associated Disorders (PAPCP) was formed in 2003. At the time, there were very few places (if any) for intellectually and physically disabled youth after they graduated from special schools at 18 years of age. This severely impacted the young adults’ lives. They were confined to their homes with no one to talk to, interact with or learn from. It also severely impacted family members who had to care for these young adults round the clock without being equipped or qualified for the job.
A few parents from Spastic Society decided to address this gap and formed PAPCP. Initially, PAPCP provided exclusive day care services to 8 people; today, wehave41people with varying degrees of disability engaged in productive, remunerative activitieswhile receiving need-based therapy. Our people are trained to produce a diverse range of products from paper plates and cloth/paper bags to corporate gifts and seasonal products such as Diwali diyas. In 2017, we introduced an assembly line activity and successfully delivered 1500 new-hire kits for Bosch. Our people are also trained in basic data entry services and serve a distinguished clientele.
Everyone in our care receives a monthly stipend from the sales of our products and services.
Several retailers, banks, multinationals, trainers, therapists, special educators, parents and volunteerssupport us in our mission to provide our people with an opportunity to explore their fullest potential in an environment of love, joy and learning.
